The Secrets of Designing a Website

When engaging in a website, I want my readers to find my blog appealing and find interest in reading the articles that I have. I believe in order to have a working website, it needs to be organized and that starts with the theme. Within this, there are so many ways that you can design your website so it looks appealing to your audience. I picked the style of being in the woods, for I believe that gives more of a calming aesthetic and attracts viewers from all over. When thinking about the theme of this website, I feel that I wanted the colors dark green, white, and black to play a big part in my website design. The background has a white aesthetic for it brings a more professional style to the website. Within the texts, I wanted the font to appear as if you were reading an article online vs if you were reading a newspaper. I wanted the font to be presentable and also have black coloring so it matches the theme. One design I also added was I included a live video of trees at the bottom of my page for it not only goes with the theme but it also is a moving picture that brings more attention. The inspirations for my design come from two websites, Forever 21 and also Sirius XM Radio.

For the first website, I loved how when you entered the main page, it has many interactive pieces like shopping or coupons you can receive. I also loved the color aesthetic that the designer chose. I took the idea to have a search engine on my page and also have a menu button so that my audience can choose where they wanted to go. The last thing that I chose from Forever 21 was the like button. Now for their website, you can like something and it will appear in that tab, for my website you can see that you liked the post for it will just appear every time you enter into it. My second website had similar objects, for example, the like button and also the menu button, but the main thing that I took from this website was the organization of how things appear. As you enter the Sirius XM website you see a huge picture and then some articles that appear. I wanted my audience to see that as they entered the website that the most recent articles are shown right on the main page. I also included different social media links so that my audience can find me on any social media platform.

I took this idea from my second website because I thought this was a smart idea and it’s a good way for your audience to interact with the author. I enjoyed creating the different aesthetics so that I can attract many readers.
